Attachments

What is an attachment and where I can find it?

An attachment can be any content created in Superset or pulled from your Tableau account. To attach content you simply click into to the search bar and either enter a keyword to find what you’re looking or use the pop-up content browser.

Attachment Types

There are four different types of attachments, that may be converted to a variety of file formats. All attachments types As you combine more types of attachments things become more complex. This Table displays the five types of attachments and the formats they can be converted to.

*The Tableau API does not allow filtered requests for Crosstab files.

Notable additional information:

  • .PNG
    • Tableau views have proven to display better when exported as a Dashboard.
  • .PDF
    • You may change Scale, Orientation, and Paper Size.
    • PDF may be protected by a Password.
    • Any two or more PDF Files may be combined into a single file.
  • Data
    • Any two or more CSV Files may be combined into an excel workbook with one tab for each CSV. (This does not apply to Crosstabs)
  • Text
    • A Superset Table sent as Text will result in an Email containing an HTML table:
      (Imagine this Report triggering whenever 10 orders have been shipped.)
    • or a Slack message with the Table rendered as text
